NEARBY ACTIVITIES

Around 35km outside the City of Cape Town, Glencairn lies a stone throw away from the village of Simon’s Town.  Encoved by the shores of False Bay and magnificent mountain ranges, the area boasts exquisite beaches, lush vegetation and an impressive array of fauna and flora.  Simon’s Town is the residence of the South African navy and is steeped in history with cobbled streets, restored cottages and small museums.

An array of delightful eateries, from quaint coffee shops to pubs serving the freshest of seafood line the main road.

Aside from the wonderful views from the seaside restaurants, it is the beaches of Simon’s Town that are a real drawcard.  Boulders Beach is home to an African penguin colony and also a popular swimming beach.  A golf course with breathtaking sea views makes for glorious days enjoying the surrounds while traversing the greens.  Cape Point Nature Reserve, home to 1100 indigenous plant species, some of which occur nowhere else on earth, and one of the highest sea cliffs in the world at 249m above sea level make for magnificent hikes and biking trails.
