Also close to Somerset West is Strand Beach, a gorgeous three-mile stretch of white sand and phenomenal waves attracting families and surfers alike.
Somerset Mall is the areas local large mall with everything you need under one roof, including shops, restaurants, movie theatres and 10-pin bowling.
The Helderberg Mountains and Helderberg Nature Reserve are a trail lovers dream with a number of different routes for hiking, mountain biking and adventure sports.
For a bit more adrenaline, visit Blue Rock. Blue Rock has the lake in Cape Town that caters for water sports, as well as a diving academy that runs scuba courses. There is cable water skiing, wake boarding, slalom, and a paintball course.
