NEARBY ACTIVITIES

Mossel Bay is a harbour town on South Africas south east coast, along the picturesque Garden Route.  Mossel Bay is home to a host of exciting activities and is known for the wide Santos Beach, the Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, and a number of small museums.  Adventurists can enjoy surfing, abseiling, sand boarding, scuba diving, shark-cage diving, sky diving, safari game drives, elephant rides, sailing, hiking and mountain biking.

Thanks to its mild climate Mossel Bay is a great all-year-round destination to visit.  Southern Right Whales often shelter in the bay from May to October and are a magnificent sight for locals and visitors alike.  December and January are the warmest and most popular months for holiday makers, with The Dias Festival celebrating South African culture with music, fireworks and a street parade during January / February annually.

A once in a life time experience is that of walking alongside Africa’s most majestic predator at Zorgfontein Eco & Wildlife Reserve. The ‘walking with lions’ encounter is an opportunity to interact with young lions in their natural habitat.

The Point Of Human Origins Eco Tours offers a great trip to caves occupied by early Stone Age man with signs of early human behaviour. These guided hikes are both fascinating and breath-taking.

With so much activity you may want to unwind by doing a little wine tasting in the surrounds, ending off your adventurous trip by putting your feet up with a glass of vino.
