Hermanus is made of pristine beaches and glorious arrays of fresh seafood. The seaside town is situated on the southeast coast, a 90-minute drive from Cape Town city. It is known mostly for magnificent whale-watching experiences and beach holidays. Being a popular holiday-makers haven, there are a host of activities for all preferences.
For adventurists there is shark cage diving, abseiling, treetop tours and quad biking. Sporting enthusiasts can enjoy a magnificent 27-hole golf course and also head to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve to follow hiking and biking trails. When the weather is not playing along, head to the Old Harbour Museum and Whale House Museum where you can marvel at the size of a suspended whale skeleton and learn more about these majestic creatures.
Wine routes, art routes, and speciality shops are dotted throughout the area with exquisite views in abundance along the meander.
