BLOUBERGSTRAND – NEARBY ACTIVITIES

Only 15km from Cape Town city centre lie the shores of Table Bay including the seaside suburbs of Bloubergstrand, Lagoon Beach and the area of Dolphin Beach.  Bloubergstrand, largely residential, is one of the world’s top kitesurfing destinations.  It is no wonder that this beach, with its picture-perfect view of Table Mountain, attracts large numbers of water sporting enthusiasts.  Surfers, windsurfers, kite-surfers, SUPs, and paddlers all enjoy the cold waters on this side of town.  The historic Robben Island can also be seen off the coast of Bloubergstrand Beach.

The beach vibes are well complimented with the convenience of shopping, plenty of restaurants and hang-out spots in the nearby vicinity with easy and safe public transport.  Lagoon Beach, Dolphin Beach and Bloubergstrand are all ideal for lazy summer days complimented by ice-cream vans and summer fun.

Winter days can be spent watching the wild ocean from next to warm crackling fires or venturing out to the Winelands for enchanting wine tastings.

The Rietvlei Wetland Reserve is a great spot for picnics and the  Blaauwberg Nature Reserve is one of the few viewpoints in the world from where you can see two proclaimed World Heritage Sites, namely Table Mountain and Robben Island.

Milnerton Golf Course is an 18-Hole Coastal Links Course with gorgeous views of Table Mountain, making every game a good one.

Business and leisure travelers alike find the location ideal as it is fairly close to the city centre and all the excitement it has to offer, yet also provides a seaside getaway for relaxation.
