MELKBOS – NEARBY ACTIVITIES
Melkbos may be a small town on the outskirts of the Mother City, but don’t underestimate its magnificent offering of exciting activities. Lazy days on white sandy beaches and scrumptious meals enjoyed while looking out over the endless ocean are just the introduction to this little piece of paradise.
The Koeberg Nature Reserve is nearby and is host to two fantastic hiking trails across varied terrain. For some adrenaline pumping fun why not ride the beautiful white dunes of Atlantis, just outside of Melkbosstrand. Stand-up and lie-down sand-boarding with full instruction and lunch is all part of the adventure.
For families, there is a fun-filled SWAT Laser Tag arena nearby and on the first Saturday of every month, the Melkbosch Food Fair brings a display of all things local, organic and delicious to the old barn on Melkboschplaas. This farm-style market also provides plenty for the kids to do. For something different and incredibly fascinating, visit the Air Force Museum. Depending on the time of your visit you could enjoy The Wings and Wheels Airshow.
